The words
Some examples of how they read together:
- University: “Introduction to Psychology” (PSY 101), Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences, 100 Level, first semester, taught by a lecturer.
- K-12: “Mathematics”, JSS 2 in arm A (written “JSS 2A”), second term, taught by a teacher.
- Other: a program such as Data Analysis, inside a cohort for this year’s intake, split into groups, taught by an instructor.
Words that don’t change
Assignments, quizzes, exams, grades, discussions, announcements, study materials and the calendar have the same names everywhere. So do the roles on a course (Owner, Teacher, Assistant, Student assistant) and the roles at a school (Superadmin, Academic admin, Non-academic admin). On a course, Teacher is the role of anyone who teaches it, whatever the school calls them. This site uses the university words: course, lecturer, faculty, department, level and semester. If your school is
K-12 or another kind, read them as your own words from the table above. Pages point out the differences where they
matter.
