Ask Lena opens the agent in a panel beside whatever you’re looking at. On a quiz it knows the quiz; on a course it knows the course. You don’t have to name it, and you don’t lose your place.

Open the panel

1

Go to the page

Open the course, assignment, quiz, exam, discussion or announcement you have a question about. A list page, such as your assignments, works too.
2

Choose Ask Lena

Choose Ask Lena in the top bar, or press ⌘ J (Ctrl J on Windows). On a phone, tap the floating Ask Lena button. The panel opens with a heading such as “Ask about Introduction to Psychology”, and a small tag naming the course, quiz or other item it will share with the agent.

Ask, or pick a suggestion

Type your question, or choose one of the suggestions for that page. The agent replies in the panel, with the same approval cards and links as the full chat.

The agent’s reply in the panel. Open the whole chat to see it full width.

To close the panel, choose Close the agent or press Esc. Once a chat has started, New chat starts afresh on the same page, and Open the whole chat opens it full width under AI Agent. Keep the page private. If you’d rather not share it with the agent, remove the tag (“Don’t share this … with the agent”) before you send.

Suggestions by page

Work elsewhere while it answers

You can close the panel, move to another page, reload, or close the tab, and the agent keeps going. While it works, Ask Lena shows a pulsing dot. When it’s done, a notice tells you what happened:
  • “Lena answered”
  • “Lena needs your go-ahead” (an approval card is waiting)
  • “Lena has a question for you”
  • “Lena couldn’t finish”
Choose Open to go to the chat. If you were offline, it brings the reply back when you reconnect. A reply you started on your computer also shows, as it happens, on your phone.

Stop a reply

Choose Stop (where Send was) at any time. The chat notes “You stopped this reply.” Anything the agent already saved stays in the app. To try again, choose Retry under the newest reply, or send a new message.

Your chats

Your chats are listed in the sidebar when it’s switched to Agent, grouped by when you last used them: Pinned, Today, Yesterday, and so on. Open a chat’s More menu to:
  • Pin it to the top, or Unpin it.
  • Mark as read or Mark as unread.
  • Rename it.
  • Delete it. Confirm with Delete in “Delete this chat?”. The chat is gone for good, from your other devices too. Files you attached in it go as well, unless you saved them to a course.
Your chats appear on every device you sign in on, for each school. When you sign out, they leave that device, and they come back when you sign in again.
