# Submitting Assignments

> How to view assignments, submit your work (text, file, or markdown format), check deadlines, and view your grades and feedback.

Assignments are a key part of your coursework on Lena. Your teacher creates
assignments with instructions and deadlines, and you submit your work through
the app.

<Note>
  **Before you begin:** You need to be enrolled in a course that has
  assignments. See [Joining a Course](/students/joining-a-course).
