# Lena Agent for your school

> What Lena Agent does for your lecturers, how it gets turned on for your school, and what stays private.

Lena Agent does the routine work in your lecturers' courses, and they check it. It answers questions about their
courses, drafts quizzes, sets up courses, plans how to go over a topic the class found hard, and brings each lecturer a
daily brief. It lives in Lena for Teachers. See [what Lena Agent is](https://support.lena.africa/agent/overview.md).

## How it's turned on

Lena Agent is switched on for a whole school at a time, by Lena's team. There's no switch for it in Lena for Schools.

* **To turn it on**, contact [support@lena.africa](mailto:support@lena.africa) or
[WhatsApp support](https://wa.me/2348039736589) and tell us which school. See [contact support](https://support.lena.africa/help/contact-support.md).
* **Your lecturers can ask too.** Until it's on, they see "Lena Agent isn't on for your school" in Lena for Teachers,
with **Request access**. That sends us a request for your school.
* **When it's on**, we email your school's owner and lecturers once to say so. Lecturers can open it straight away.

## Who uses it

* **Lecturers** use it in their own courses, as an **Owner**, **Teacher** or **Assistant** on the course. Each has a
  daily allowance.
* **Students never see it.**
* **It only acts when a lecturer asks.** A lecturer who'd rather not use it doesn't have to, and can turn off the
  [daily brief](https://support.lena.africa/agent/daily-brief.md#turn-it-on-or-off) in their settings.
* **Admins** don't use it in Lena for Schools.

## What it can and can't do

* **It works as the lecturer.** It can do only what that lecturer could do in the app, in the school they have open,
  and nothing more.
* **It asks first**, by default, before anything that can't be taken back, notifies people, or changes someone else's
records, such as publishing or sending announcements. A lecturer can turn most of these checks off for themselves.
Setting or changing marks, releasing grades or results, and ending a course always need the lecturer's approval. See
  [approvals and safety](https://support.lena.africa/agent/approvals-and-safety.md).
* **It never touches** billing, sign-in or passwords, or anything only school admins can do. It can't turn itself on
  for a school.

## What's kept private

Your school's work isn't used to train AI. Lena Agent doesn't follow instructions written into student work or
posts. See [limits and privacy](https://support.lena.africa/agent/limits-and-privacy.md).
